Fannett-Metal defeats Everett 52-42

Fannett-Metal (4-3, 3-1 ICC) ended a three game losing skid with an ICC League win over the visiting Everett Warriors.  The Tigers used a strong start to take a 20-13 lead in the first quarter.  The Tigers would lead 30-25 at the half.  The Warriors would score the first six points of the 3rd quarter to take a 31-30 lead before the Tigers rolled off 15 unanswered points to take a 45-31 lead.  “ We hit a couple big three pointers in the 3rd but it was our defense that really ignited us during that scoring streak, Coach Paul Coffman said.  “It felt good to get back in the win column after a couple tough losses last week”

F-M was led by their three starting seniors.  Wyatt Appleby led all scorers with 23 points and 10 rebounds, followed by Luke Coffman with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 3 steals, and Ayden Warren with 11 points and 5 assists.  “Our seniors really stepped up tonight.  Our younger guys didn’t score but their defense was a big part in tonight’s victory”, Coffman said.  The Warriors were led by Clinton Russell with 12 points, while Iseminger and Shaw both scored 9 points.

F-M won the Junior Varsity game 30-27.  The Tigers return to action on Friday night when they host the MCConnellsburg Spartans.  The JV game will start at 6:00.
