Greencastle-Antrim 55, James Buchanan 47: The Rockets got the Blue Devils in foul trouble early, but G-A rebounded in the second half to turn an 8-point deficit into an 8-point win with a strong second half in a Mid Penn Colonial game at Greencastle on Friday night.

Haley Noblit scored 13 of her 20 points in the first half to keep her team alive while JB built its lead.

Greencastle coach Mike Rhine said, “We started out in major foul trouble — Mia Libby got her third late in the first quarter and Lauren Pool got her third early in the second. We lost our composure and JB did a good job jamming it inside. It could have been much worse — credit to girls like Ainsley Swindell and Aubrey Smith and Meadow Gambacurta, who held their own.”

In the second half, Rylee Henson knocked down a pair of threes to get G-A going and the Blue Devils outscored the Rockets 15-4 in the third period to re-take the lead.

Rhine said, “The story was we kept the ship afloat in the first half, then came out on fire in the second. In the end, some kids got some good minutes and hopefully we learned about fouling too much.”

Henson scored a career-high 13 points, Libby had 10 and Pool 9 for G-A (5-0, 2-0 MPC). Also, Pool (9) and Smith (8) led in rebounds, Shaina Overcash had 5 steals, Noblit made 5 assists and Libby had 3 steals and 3 assists.

For James Buchanan, Kaleigh Hartman scored 16 points inside, MacKenzie Stoner added 10 and Campbelle Dayley scored 8.

James Buchanan 71, Greencastle-Antrim 49: The Rockets put four players in double figures and a strong start carried them to a Mid Penn Colonial win over the Blue Devils in Mercersburg on Friday night.

JB led 23-12 after one quarter, then outscored G-A 37-25 in the second half.

For the Rockets, Trent Amsley totaled 19 points, Jayce Piper added 17, Cade Layton chipped in 14 and Garrett Hann contributed 10.

The Blue Devils (1-3, 1-1 MPC) got 18 points from Conner Wright and Bobby Emberson added 9.
