GIRLS SOCCER
Chambersburg 4, Waynesboro 1: The Maidens scored the first goal on a breakaway, but the Trojans tied it by halftime and rolled in the second half to win a non-league encounter at Trojan Stadium on Thursday night.

“We tied it by halftime, then really worked the ball around, which we’ve done well the last two games,” Chambersburg coach Ed Franchi said. “We need to continue to do that and play with maximum effort. Addie Lloyd has been playing really well, as has Bianca Sommers. They are controlling the middle well.”

Ahsia Thomas scored from a pass by Lindsay Swanger in the first half for the Trojans (7-8-1). In the second half, Aubrey Pyne, Thomas and Lily Nichter hit the back of the net, with assists going to Kat Bedris, Lloyd and Thomas. Keeper Bridget Kemerer made 3 saves.

True Benchoff scored the goal for Waynesboro.
