Bryce Folmar

Last week: The Trojans (2-5, 0-4 MPC) fell behind Altoona 21-0 early in the second period and couldn’t mount a full comeback in a 28-14 defeat … Chambersburg coach Mark Luther said safety Bryce Folmar “had a really good game. We played a lot of man coverage, and he did a great job of coming up and filling the box and making a lot of tackles near the line of scrimmage.” … CD East (5-2, 3-1 MPC) was defeated 25-20 by Harrisburg.
The Trojans: Having lost 4 offensive linemen over the past 3 weeks, Chambersburg will finally get one back this week as Chase Stenger returns and will play some center … Shea Makosy, who was thrust into playing center for the first time last week, will likely see some time at guard this week, as well as linebacker … Luther said, “They are very aggressive on defense — they will man us up and bring pressure. That’s challenging, because if one guy gets through, he could cause trouble. But, if you can pick them up, if gives us a chance for a big play.” … QB Jermere Jones is now 46-for-83 (55%) for 779 yards, 8 TDs and 7 interceptions … Riley Harmon also played QB last week and was 2-for-10 for 18 yards and a pick … Bryce Flenory has 48 carries for 265 yards and Rashawn Williams has 51 for 209 yards … Top receivers are Rhaigeon Parker (14-277, 2 TDs), Andy Jean-Baptiste (10-148, TD), James Lilley (8-97, TD) and Malachi Scott (6-213, 2 TDs).
The Panthers: In common opponents, East has beaten Altoona 27-10 and State College 34-13 … The Panthers welcomed two key transfers before the season — WR/S Mehki Flowers, a Penn State commit who helped Steel-High win a PIAA Class A title last year, and QB Tony Powell, from Middletown … Luther said, “They got a couple of kids who have made a difference for them. They are very athletic as a team. I’m sure it’s been different for Flowers, coming from a Class A team to 6A. But their team has a chance to make the playoffs.” … Other top players for the Panthers are QB-WR Terrance Jackson-Copney, WR Tymere Thornton and RB Marcel McDaniels.
Coach’s viewpoint: “That score against Harrisburg is a little misleading — it wasn’t close until the end of the game,” Luther said. “But East is very athletic and they’re a good team.”
