WAYNESBORO — Waynesboro scored a pair of touchdowns in the first half to take a 14-0 lead into the break, then played Greencastle-Antrim even in the second half.
The result was a 28-14 football win by the Indians at Buchanan Auto Park in a Mid Penn Colonial Division game Friday night.
Jaylon Bean, who replaced Louie Lindsay at quarterback for ‘Boro, scored on a 10-yard run in the first quarter, then a short run by Mikel Holden in the second quarter made it 14-0.
In the second half, QB Andrew Kerns snuck in from the 1 to put Greencastlte (3-3, 1-2 MPC) on the scoreboard. Bean’s second scoring run, of 28 yards, restored the 14-point spread early in the fourth period. Midway through the fourth, Kerns scored again on a 1-yard sneak to bring his team to within one score.
But the Indians (4-2, 2-1 MPC) added the clincher on a 36-yard run by Aidan Mencia.
Waynesboro intercepted four Blue Devil passes. Seth Stouffer made an interception for G-A.
