Second-half goals lift Blazers

HAGERSTOWN, Md. — The Cumberland Valley Christian Blazers broke a 4-4 halftime tie with three second-half goals and defeated St. Maria Goretti 7-4 Thursday in a non-league boys soccer game.

The Blazers (13-1) rebounded from Tuesday’s 3-1 loss to league rival Calvary by exploding for seven goals against a tough opponent.

Mario Wiesman scored four goals to lead the Blazers. Wyatt Pine added two goals, and Nollin Egolf sent home the other goal. Max Crawford contributed three assists, while Pine, Wiesman, Finlay Smith and Landon Kellogg collected an assist each.

The Blazers still lead the Mason-Dixon Christian Conference by a game over Calvary and have home games next week against New Life, Shalom and Grace.
