GIRLS SOCCER
Greencastle-Antrim 6, Cedar Cliff 0: Haley Noblit put on a show for the Blue Devils in a non-league game at Cedar Cliff on Thursday afternoon on the road at Lowther Field.

“It started off slowly today and then picked up fast when Haley caught on fire,” Greencastle coach Chris Noblit said. “She scored five of the six goals. It was her best performance of the season and it has been good to see different players step up each game.”

In addition to Noblit’s five tallies, Maddie Koons had a goal and two assists and Mia Libby added two assists. Goalkeeper Lexi Nelson preserved the shutout.

It was the seventh straight win for Greencastle (8-1).

Gavin Davidson

BOYS SOCCER
Cedar Cliff 2, Greencastle-Antrim 0: The Colts got off to a fabulous start, with two goals in the game’s first five minutes, including a penalty kick, but the Blue Devils played them closer the rest of the non-league game at Kaley Field on Thursday night.

“Outside of the first five minutes of the game, I was pretty pleased with how we played the game,” G-A coach Aric Bruner said. “Obviously, we need to start putting the ball in the back of the net. I believe in these boys and can’t wait to see how we can turn it around next week to start the second half of our schedule.”

For Greencastle (3-5-1), Gavin Davidson was credited with  9 saves.
