Last week: Greencastle (2-2, 0-1 MPC) suffered a tough loss to East Pennsboro, 27-19, after leading 19-7 in the second half … Brady Diller, David Niebauer and Taylor Conrad each ran for a score … “We were happy with 3 1/2 quarters last week,” G-A coach Devin McCauley said. “But we had both of our inside linebackers go out with cramps and that’s where they went at us.” … Susquehanna Twp. (0-4, 0-1 MPC) was defeated 37-7 by Shippensburg … The Indians have allowed 193 points and have scored 27, but their opponents’ combined record is 13-3.
The Blue Devils: The G-A player of the game last week was Logan Shifflett, who got his first start at linebacker and made 14 tackles and added an interception … “He played at a very high level,” McCauley said … Despite the defeat last week, McCauley said he was encouraged by practices this week … “I think we have a good foundation that we’ve been building,” McCauley said. “We’ve been in tough situations before and we’re able to refocus on the next test. They did a great job this week in practice and I think we’re ready to go.”
The Indians: QB Javon White is the key player … He hit 6 of 17 passes last week against Ship and ran 14 times for 66 yards … McCauley said, “The quarterback is the guy we need to focus on — he can scramble and he makes things happen. Look, they may be 0-4, but they are not a typical 0-4 team and they’re always dangerous because they have athletes. This will be a challenge.”
Coach’s viewpoint: “We’re really excited about this Military Appreciation ceremony,” McCauley said. “I think it will go over really well and will be special. We hope we can win the football game and make it a really good night for Greencastle.”
