G-A roundup: Blue Devils are 3rd in shortened golf match

Blue Devils place 3rd: The Mid Penn Colonial golf match at Great Cove G.C. on Wednesday was reduced to nine holes after the course was hit by a thunderstorm.

Waynesboro (25-0) finished first again, while Shippensburg (18-7) took second, Greencastle-Antrim (17-8) third and James Buchanan (5-20) fifth. The Indians had 150 strokes, Ship 165, G-A 175 and JB 181.

Tyler Fortney of ‘Boro was a medalist for the second time this week, shooting a 37 to tie for first place with teammate Ella Lowery. Waynesboro’s Evan Stein and Dylan Byers both shot 38, as did Vance Kunkle of the Greyhounds.

Cooper Swam of G-A, Larry Singer of JB and J.T. Thomas of Ship each shot 41 to tie for seventh.
