Blazers rack up shutout in opener

The Cumberland Valley Christian Blazers opened their boys soccer season by rolling to an 8-0 victory over Mount Union Thursday in a non-league game.

The Blazers scored within the first few minutes of the game and piled up a 4-0 lead by halftime.

Seniors Wyatt Pine and Max Crawford each scored a hat trick to account for six of the goals. Junior Aaron Minnier and sophomore Finlay Smith added the other goals.

Freshman Landon Kellogg contributed three assists, while Pine, Smith, Crawford, Nollin Egolf and Bradley Stayman notched an assist apiece.

Goalkeeper Gabe Beckering registered the shutout, making three saves.
