SOFTBALL
Greencastle-Antrim 8, Red Land 5: The Patriots trimmed the Blue Devils’ 5-0 lead with four runs in the fifth, but a two-run seventh provided some insurance in G-A’s non-league victory on Tuesday afternoon in Lewisberry.

Adrianna Beeler went 4 2/3 innings and got the win, and got some relief help from Bailee Martin-Irving. They combined to strike out nine and allowed only seven hits and two earned runs.

Greencastle (12-7), winners of three in a row, rapped out 13 hits.

Five players had two hits each — Martin-Irving, Beeler, Makayla Jerin, Sydra Royer and Amanda Grosh. Beeler hit a pair of doubles, Royer had a double and Grosh contributed two runs batted in.

The Blue Devils host Camp Hill in their regular season finale on Thursday, and will play in the District 3 Class 5A playoffs next week.
