Chambersburg 3, Central Dauphin East 0: On their way to a comfortable victory over the Panthers, the Trojans put down a total of 16 aces to help secure their Mid Penn Commonwealth match Monday night at CASHS Field House.
Jackson Stahl led with five aces, while Luke Pogue, Riley Laite and Kyle Ganoe each had three. Stahl (11), Cole Myers (9), Ganoe and Camden Etter (8 each) led in service points.
Chambersburg (9-3, 8-3 MPC), which won its third straight, took games of 25-16, 25-22 and 25-14.
“We did a good job of getting in and out of the match in three sets,” Trojan coach Marta Helfrick said. “We served well and limited our errors. I would have liked to see us pass a little better so our offense could have been a little more varied.”
Laite converted on 10 of 19 kill attempts and Ganoe scored on 8 of 11 tries, while Stahl also had eight kills. Etter and Pogue each had two block kills. Myers led in assists with 23, and Laite (6) and Andrew Holtry (5) had the most digs.
New Oxford 20, Chambersburg 6: In a non-league contest at Trojan Stadium on Monday night, the Trojans were defeated 20-6 by New Oxford.
Dom Marangoni assisted on four of the goals for Chambersburg (1-9), and also put one in the net. Brady Kunkleman recorded two goals and one assist.
Also for the Trojans, Sam Kunkleman, Riley Schaeffer and Riley Harmon each scored a goal.
New Oxford 24, Chambersburg 4: The Trojans played a non-league game at New Oxford on Monday evening, and the Colonials came away with a dominating victory.
For Chambersburg (1-9), Ashlyn Barton had her most productive game of the season, scoring three goals. The other Trojan goal was made by Emma Grimm.
