Several area swimmers produced good days at the District 3 boys swimming championships on Saturday.
— Chambersburg senior Aidan McMillen placed fourth in the 100 backstroke at the Class 3A meet at Cumberland Valley H.S.
— In the Class 2A meet at Central York H.S., Shippensburg freshman Jed Ritchie had two individual top-five places, and helped two relay teams place for the Greyhounds.
— Also in 2A, Greencastle-Antrim sophomore Brady Jackson came up with two top-five performances.
McMillen bettered his seed time in the final, swimming the backstroke in 52.94. But Wilson’s Chadd Corson won in a time 52.11 and two others snuck in ahead of McMillen.
In the 50 free, McMillen was 16th in a time of 22.30.
Third place was the highest 2A finish for area teams. Ritchie took third in the 100 butterfly (54.42) and anchored the 200 freestyle relay team to a third-place finish in 1:33.70. Devin Wilson, Colin Knause and Mason Holtry also swam on the team.
Also for Shippensburg, Ritchie placed fourth in the 500 free (4:59.13), Krause was fifth in the 100 free (51.51) and 10th in the 50 free (23.58), and the 400 free relay team took sixth in 3:32.23, with the same crew as the 200 team.
Greencastle’s Jackson placed fourth in the 50 free in 22.56, and took fifth in the 100 backstroke in 55.56. Blue Devil teammates Dylan Herivioux (9th, 57.68) and Diego Gonzales (11th, 59.14) also placed in the event, and all bettered their seed times. Herivieux also placed 10th in the 200 IM (2:06.89).
