MERCERSBURG – The Southern Fulton boys basketball team drove over the mountain to Mercersburg Monday night and were able to capture a 75-67 win over the James Buchanan Rockets.
The Indians (5-4, 3-3 ICC) took a 14 to 8 lead at the end of the first period and never trailed, although JB did mount a comeback that saw them cut it to a one score game in the middle of the fourth quarter.
A steal for a score by Luke Fitz, along with SF hitting 9 of 12 free throws down the stretch, sealed the game.
Josh Morris led the Indians with 31 points, 7 assists and 2 steals. Dane Harvey had 16 points, 6 rebounds and 2 blocks. Konner Pittman had 14 points and 4 assists, and Zach Price added 8 points and 6 rebounds.
SF recorded 17 rebounds to JB’s 13, but the Indians committed 10 turnovers compared to the Rockets’ 8.
Southern Fulton travels for Fannett Metal on tonight for a conference matchup.
