Foul trouble, cold shooting doom Southern Fulton in loss

Southern Fulton fell to Tussey Mountain on Wednesday evening 45 to 42 in an ICC game.

The Indians (4-2, 3-2 ICC) led 28 to 18 at the half, and 34 to 27 going into the third period, but were outscored 18 to 7 in the fourth quarter.  Konner Pittman missed a game tying 3 with 5 seconds to go with Kasey Fitz coming up with the rebound and missing a second attempt 3 at the buzzer.

“We didn’t shoot particularly well this evening and got into some foul trouble with that combination coming back to bite us,” SF coach Jeremy Hann said. “We had to mix and match the lineup to get thru it and kind of just ground down momentum wise.  Give them credit, when Harvey got in foul trouble they really took advantage.”

Caleb Elder led Southern Fulton with 12 points and 3 rebounds.  Josh Morris had 9 points and 4 assists.  Konner Pittman had 8 points, 2 assists and 2 steals.  Dane Harvey added  7 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 block.

SF outrebounded Tussey Mountain 20-13, and Tussey committed 14 turnovers compared to SF’s 10.

Chad Morningstar led Tussey Mt. with 23 points and 3 rebounds.

Southern Fulton will travel to Everett Friday night for a conference game.
