Southern Fulton boys survive late Fannett-Metal comeback

Southern Fulton defeated Fannett Metal 66 to 62 in an ICC game on Friday evening.  The Indians (3-1, 3-1 ICC) led Fannett Metal 26 to 16 at the end of the first period and never trailed the rest of the game.

Maintaining a large lead for most of the night, Southern Fulton watched its lead evaporate in the 4th period, but the Tiger’s comeback fell short.

“We had this game completely in hand but somehow started to do some things in the final period that were not smart and just not winning basketball,” SF coach Jeremy Hann said. “I hope we can learn from this and move forward. There were bad shots, bad clock management and quite frankly, bad coaching on my part.  I hope we can learn from this and right the ship quickly”.

Konner Pittman led the Indians with 18 points, 2 rebounds and 2 steals.  Josh Morris had 17 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists.  Dane Harvey had 13 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 block.  Zach Price had 10 points, 8 rebounds and 2 blocks.  Luke Fitz added 6 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 5 steals.

Southern Fulton outrebounded the Tigers 30-15, while the teams were even in turnovers with 13 each.

Fannett Metal was led by Hunter Hill with 37 points and 6 rebounds.

Southern Fulton travels to Claysburg this afternoon for a Saturday out-of-conference game.
