Greencastle-Antrim 80, West Perry 30: After three defeats in their last four games, the Blue Devils needed a win in a bad way, and they got it in a big way over West Perry in a Mid Penn Colonial game Tuesday night at home.

“It was a nice team win,” G-A coach Rick Lewis said. “I thought we really shared the ball well and ran the floor.”

Greencastle (6-4, 5-4 MPC) put five players in double figures — Tim Ehko (15), Conner Wright (14), Adam Root (13), Adam Murr (10) and Riley Gembe (10). It was a career-high total for Ehko and Wright matched his season high.

The Blue Devils ran out to a 23-6 lead after the first eight minutes and it was 50-15 by halftime.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Greencastle-Antrim 49, West Perry 33: The Blue Devils outscored the Mustangs in every quarter, but never really pulled away until late in their Mid Penn Colonial victory Tuesday night on the road.

Mia Libby scored 9 of her 14 points in the first half to help get Greencastle (8-1, 7-1 MPC) going, and Sayge Wilhide popped in 12 of her 18 points in the second half.

In a physical battle under the boards, Lauren Pool came down with 12 rebounds and Olivia Winslow added 7.

“This is exactly the type of game we needed — tough and physical on the road,” G-A coach Mike Rhine said. “We had to battle through a couple of injuries during the game and others are stepping up. Mia and Lauren really elevated their games when we most needed it.”

Wilhide knocked six 3-pointers to boost her career total to 152. Libby added 7 assists and Pool also had 6 points.
