Northern hands Greencastle boys their first defeat

Northern York 78, Greencastle-Antrim 55: Northern York bombed in 11 3-point shots to hand the Blue Devils their first loss of the season, 78-55, in a Mid Penn Colonial game Friday night at Greencastle.

All six players for the Polar Bears (4-0) had at least one 3-pointer.

“Northern is very good,” G-A coach Rick Lewis said. “They shot really well, and definitely on the threes.”

Nate McGill threw in 25 points and Tyler Weary had 23 for Northern.

For the Blue Devils, Zach Cole totaled 18 points. Riley Gembe scored 9 and Conner Wright added 8 for G-A (4-1, 3-1 MPC).

Lewis said, “I was really pleased with our effort. Northern is a very good team and we will grow from this game.”
