CRESAPTOWN, Md. – Calvary Christian won three straight games to send the Cumberland Valley Christian Blazers to defeat in the Mason-Dixon Christian Conference girls volleyball championship Friday evening.
Calvary (13-1 MDCC) claimed a 25-13 victory in the first set and 25-17 in the second.
In the third game, the Blazers (11-6) led by as many as six points but Calvary battled back to tie the match at 20-20. The Eagles then went on to rack up the game’s final five points to win the game and the championship.
Emilee Beam had 12 kills and Morgan Householder seven to lead the Blazers in that category. Ryleigh Timmons led in digs with 11, followed by Householder with seven. Regan Bard contributed a team-high 21 assists.
The Blazers close out their season Monday with a non-league match against St. Maria Goretti.
