FREDERICK, Md. – The Cumberland Valley Christian Blazers remained hot by rolling to a 13-0 victory over New Life Christian Friday in a Mason-Dixon Christian Conference boys soccer game.
Junior Wyatt Pine and sophomore Aaron Minnier each fired in three goals and added an assist to lead the Blazers (10-1, 8-1 MDCC).
“Aaron Minnier got called on for his second varsity start this season and showed up in a big way,” Blazers coach Stan Hott said. “He recorded a hat trick and one assist. But the stats don’t show how much of an impact he actually made on the field. He was directing the plays and played in several key positions tonight.”
Freshman Mario Wiesman scored two goals and dished out three assists. Also scoring goals were seniors Elijah Randolph and Blaine Minnier, junior Josh Rowe, sophomore Nollin Egolf and freshman Ryan Crawford.
“We were able to get our secondary players time for the majority of the game,” Hott said. “They passed well and played with poise and confidence.”
Elijah Randolph had two assists. Also contributing assists were Egolf, Ryan and Max Crawford, Noah Randolph, Caleb Eckert and Blaine Minnier.
The victory sets up a showdown with Calvary Christian next Thursday at CVCS for the No. 1 seed in the league.
