“It wasn’t our most energetic performance, but we were able to play with multiple lineups and still come out on top,” G-A coach Corry Eagler said. “I’m proud of the effort and looking forward to facing Waynesboro on Monday.”

Gia Dasilva had a busy night with 5 kills, 3 aces and 13 service points for the Blue Devils. Other stat leaders included Lauren Pool (9 kills), Audrey Garling (10 points), Alayna Welsh (7 digs), Gracie Trobaugh (5 digs) and McKenzie Shatzer (19 assists).

Greencastle 1, Shippensburg 1: Adam Murr scored to tie the game midway through the second half and that’s the way the Mid Penn Colonial clash between the Blue Devils and Greyhounds ended.

Murr’s tally was off a corner kick taken by Caleb Baine for Greencastle (2-0-1).

G-A coach Arik Bruner said, “I thought the boys battled very well tonight, in a very physical game. It was our second straight double-overtime game, so we were definitely running on adrenaline by the end of the night. Once again, they showed the heart and attitude to get back in the game after giving up a first-half goal.

“(Our goal) gave us a ton of energy. We used that energy to create some great chances the rest of the half and into overtime. We missed a penalty kick in overtime that sort of stalled the momentum. Once again, a great team effort from every player against a talented team.”
