GIRLS GOLF
Chambersburg takes 2nd: In the final Mid Penn Conference girls match of the regular season, Chambersburg placed second among six teams and finished with a winning record at 6-5.
Heather Sanbower put together her best round of the season, an 82, at Armitage Golf Club, to earn medalist honors. She birdied No. 8 and No. 14 and would have shot even par on the back nine except for a triple bogey.
Trojan coach Mark Yost said, “Today was a pretty positive day. Heather played well — she finished 12-over par and six of those strokes came on her two triple bogeys. We beat Central Dauphin and State College, who we had lost to before. Megan Brandt had a solid round and CHloe Fogelsonger had her best score.
Brandt shot 96 to place 11th, Emma Tolbert tied for 14 with a 101 and Fogelsonger had a 128.
The Trojans will compete next Wednesday back at Armitage in the Mid Penn Tournament.
