Lower Dauphin 4, Chambersburg 1: The Falcons and Trojans competed closely in all five matches, but LD won four of them to capture a girls tennis victory on Friday afternoon.
For Chambersburg (2-2), Avery Wissinger picked up the lone win. At No. 2 singles, she rallied for a 2-6, 6-4, 10-4 decision at No. 2 singles.
Trojan coach Josh Barwin said, “Avery played her third set tiebreak of the week and won all three, as she continues to play her best.”
Also in singles, No. 1 Sarah Vessah dropped a 6-3, 6-4 match, while at No. 3, Biya Khan was close in a 6-3, 6-7, 15-13 defeat.
Barwin said, “Biya lost a tough three-setter, but fought hard the whole way.”
Both doubles teams — Stormy Jackson and Ridglee Flohr at No. 1, and Aspen Kimberly and Sydni Byers at No. 2 — lost a close 7-5 set.
It was fourth match in five days for the Trojans.
