Blazers drop match to Faith

MARTINSBURG, W. Va. – Faith Christian earned victories in the final two games to defeat the Cumberland Valley Christian Blazers 3-1 in a Mason-Dixon Christian Conference girls volleyball match Tuesday.

Faith won the first game 25-19 before the Blazers (1-3, 1-3 MDCC) battled back to claim a 25-20 victory in the second game. Faith then secured the match by taking wins of 25-20 and 25-17.

“Kendra Bard had an awesome serving night, leading the team with 13 service points, of which five were aces,” Blazers coach Carole Rosenberry said. “In set three, she served 10 service points to bring us from a 24-10 deficit to only losing the match 25-20.”

For the Blazers, Morgan Householder had five kills and six digs, Sarah Vandersleen had two blocks, Maddie Eberly added 18 assists, Emilee Beam contributed six kills and four digs, Bard had four kills, Ryleigh Timmons added seven digs and Niki Schussler had six digs.

Faith won the JV game, 2-0.
