Chambersburg 37, Altoona 34: The Mountain Lions just missed a 3-point shot at the buzzer and the Trojans escaped with a low-scoring Mid Penn Commonwealth victory at CASHS Field House on Wednesday night.

Chambersburg (12-4, 8-2 MPC) has now won five games in a row. Altoona is 8-7 (6-5 MPC).

The Trojans carved out a five-point lead (24-19) by halftime and increased it to 31-23 by the end of three. Altoona held Chambersburg without a field goal in the fourth quarter and outscored it 11-6, but the Trojans sank 6 of 9 free throws in the period to hold on.

Ethan Shreffler hit four 3-pointers and led Chambersburg with 15 points, while Terell Williams had 8.

For the Mountain Lions, only three players got in the scoring column. Caleb Pierce (16) and P.J. Charles (14) led, and they were the only players who scored in the second half.

Altoona 45, Chambersburg 32: The Trojans held an 8-7 lead after one quarter, but the Mountain Lions outscored them 35-14 in the middle two periods to pick up a Mid Penn Commonwealth victory Tuesday evening.

Caranda Perea scored 10 of her 13 points and Adalynn Cherry had 10 of her 11 in the middle periods for Altoona (8-7, 7-4 MPC).

For Chambersburg (3-11, 1-9 MPC), Sydney Schmus scored 16 points, which was a career-high total.

Kiki Walker was the next-highest scorer with 7 points.
