NEW OXFORD — Greencastle-Antrim had one placewinner and Waynesboro had three at the New Oxford Tournament, which switched from a Friday-Saturday event to Friday only to avoid the snow.
For the Blue Devils, Jared Miller took eighth at 145 pounds. He had a technical fall in the first round, then lost in the next round. He had a major decision and a loss in consolations, then forfeited in his seventh-place bout.
Greencastle, which also had wins from Garrett Keener at 120 and Lorcan Wright at 126, finished 28th as a team.
Waynesboro took 12th in the team standings. The Indians’ placewinners included Hayden Reichard, who opened with three straight pins to reach the semifinals at 182. He fell 6-1 to Jacob Feese of Line Mountain in the semifinals, then took third with a 12-6 win over Hunter Herzog of Northern York.
Kaden Rouzer placed seventh at 126 with a 3-2 record, and Bodie Rouzer was eighth at 120 with a 2-3 mark.
Other wrestlers with two wins for ‘Boro were Colby Bittorie (132), Quinton Frampton (138), Carson McGregor (145) and Austin McGee (152).
Red Land won the team title, with 163 points to 162.5 for runner-up Canton.
