Chambersburg took second place in the boys standings and the Trojan girls took fourth.

Julia Strine picked two individual wins for the Lady Hounds — 200 IM (2:17.82) and 100 breaststroke (1:07.60) — while leading off both relay wins, in the 200 and 400 freestyle relays.

Madison Osanitch won the 100 backstroke in 1:02.16 and Jillian Strine took the 50 free in 25.73, and both were on the relay teams. Mia Estep and Rachel Connor each swam one leg on the relays.

James Buchanan’s girls won the 200 medley relay in 2:01.30 with the team of Madison Price, Kortny Green, Sarah Kimmel and Sadie Garbinski.

The Trojan girls did have a winner, but Layne Rydbom had a second in the 200 IM and a third in the 100 fly, and swam on two top-five relay teams. Liv Terrazas and Chace Johnson each had a top-five finish and were on both relays.

Chambersburg girls coach Donnie Miller said, “We had an excellent meet, with eight of our 12 swimmers performing at least one personal best. It was great to see smiling faces, excitement and positive energy. We are improving.

“Excellent efforts for themselves, but more importantly for one another. We really looked like a team around the pool, and I hope this support and motivation continues into the new year.”

Chambersburg’s boys ended up 14 points behind Bishop McDevitt, despite missing two key team members and having only eight swimmers.

Aidan McMillen was a workhorse for the Trojans. He won the 200 freestyle in 1:52.44 and the 100 backstroke in 58.03, while swimming on the winning 200 medley relay (with Michael Johnson, Colby Estep and Gavin Vink) that won in 1:46.03 and the 200 free relay (same team) that placed second.

Estep collected his team’s other win, claiming the 500 free in 5:04.05. Trojans Vink and Joseph Decker took second and third, respectively, in the same event. Vink (200 IM) and Johnson (breaststroke) also had individual runner-up places.
