Boy’s Basketball 12/27/19 Fannett Metal Christmas Tournament

Willow Hill, Pa. – McConnellsburg traveled to the Fannett Metal Christmas Tournament and fell to the Maryland School for the Deaf 63 to 45. Zander Sipes led the Spartans with 22 pts, 6 rebound, 4 steals, 3 assists. Walker Funk added 10 points and 6 rebounds. Freshman Kyle Romig chipped in 8 points and 10 rebounds. The Spartans will play Shalom Christian Academy in the consolation game at 6:00 on Saturday.

Fannett Metal 61 Shalom Christian Academy 59

Willow Hill, Pa. – The Tigers led most of the game and hung on at the end for a 61-59 victory over Shalom Christian Academy in the opening round of the annual F-M Christmas Tournament.  Tiger Coach Paul Coffman commented, “It got pretty exciting at the end of the game tonight, but the boys found a way to get it done.  This was a great team win. We have been challenging our team to rebound the ball better and we did that tonight. We had 36 rebounds, while Shalom had 25.” Hunter Hill had a monster game for the Tigers with 24 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 6 steals.  Colton Friese had a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.  Darston Warren had (8) rebounds and Luke Coffman had (7) rebounds.  Tanner Seibert had (7) points and Ayden Warren had (8) points for the Tigers. Leading the way for the Flames were Brayden Parker (18) points and Aiden Jones (17) points.  Fannett Metal will play Maryland School for the Deaf tomorrow in the championship game at 7:30.
