The Cumberland Valley Christian Blazers romped to a 33-11 halftime lead and defeated Carlisle Christian 61-19 Monday evening in a non-league girls basketball game.
“I loved the way we attacked on offense tonight,” Blazers coach Dylan Ward said. “We started on a 20-6 run in the first quarter and ended up being up by 22 at halftime.”
Sophomore Amber Yanosik dropped in 19 points to lead the Blazers (4-0). Sophomore Laurel Reitz added 12 points and senior Kyleigh Teal tossed in 11.
“I just thought our defense created our offense, which is what we want and how we are going to be successful,” Ward said. “Also, having three players score in double figures has been a key to our success.”
Also scoring for the Blazers were Mollee Stake with six points, Jalen Moats with five, Mackenzie Sites with four, and Mariah Peck and Sarah Vandersleen with two each.
