Fannett Metal 1 Southern Fulton 0
Warfordsburg, Pa. – Fans who showed up planning on seeing a good District V Quarterfinal game between 2 good teams with identical records were not disappointed. Colton Kline scored the game’s only goal in the first half, which was enough for Fannett Metal (13-6) to cling to a 1-0 win over the Indians of Southern Fulton (12-7). Tanner Seibert assisted on Kline’s goal. Fannett Metal Coach Tom Otis commented, “Southern Fulton played with great intensity throughout the game. They were quicker to the ball at times tonight. However, Darston Warren put in a great performance at center back for us and won a tremendous amount of headers, which prevented Southern Fulton from getting behind our defense. Without him back there, it could have been a different story. Luke Coffman, our goalie, also had a very good game.”
Southern Fulton Coach Hervey Hann commented, “It was a good game to watch but a bad game for the coach to watch. We congratulate FM on the first round of district playoff and we wish them the best as they move forward. I congratulate my team on an excellent season with their record in regular season of 12-6. We only lost to 3 teams this year, Everett, McConnellsburg, and Fannett Medal with two losses to each team. We have two players invited to the 4 Diamonds all-star game. They are Colby Whiteside and Darwin Reyes.”
Fannett Metal will play McConnellsburg, who defeated Berlin, on Tuesday, October 29, at Northern Bedford High School at 7:00.
