The non-league win at Trojan Stadium enabled the Trojans to finish the regular season with an 11-7 record and gain a berth in the District 3 Class 4A playoffs, which begin Tuesday with an away game. G-A finished with an 8-10 mark.

“We ended on a high note,” Chambersburg coach Ed Franchi said. “The girls wanted to come out quick and they did, scoring two minutes into the game.”

Lindsey Swanger scored that goal, which was followed by halftime with goals from Pyne and Huntsman, on assists from Gianna Weigel and Adeline Williams.

In the second half, Huntsman got her second, followed by two more from Pyne, as Ahsia Thomas had an assist. Pyne now has a team-leading 11 goals.

Greencastle broke through on a goal by Avery Parks, but Chambersburg scored late on a goal by Layne Kimple, assisted by Ashley Bawell.

Franchi said, “Kimple and Bawell are both seniors, so it was to see them get that goal on Senior Night. I was very pleased with the effort rate from beginning to end.”
