The James Buchanan Lady Rocket volleyball team won in three straight sets over Milton Hershey Monday night in a non-league match.

JB (11-4), which has won 4 straight, 10 of its last 12 matches and is ranked No. 8 in the Class AAA power rankings, won by game scores of 25-17, 25-17 and 25-16.

“I thought we served well and that helped us get out of some jams,” JB coach Erica Piper said. “We were caught off guard a little bit with how well they blocked us. But we’ll take a win to start another three-match week, especially with such a long bus ride. We need to keep pushing for districts.”

Last Thursday the Lady Rockets won at West Perry 3-0 (25-12, 25-17, 25-10).

“We played the best we have in quite a while and that was great to see after a long week,” Piper said. “Lydia and Rylynn got us off to a great start serving tonight and we never looked back. Campbelle really controlled the net out of the middle and our passing was much better.”
