The Shippensburg football team remained undefeated, defeating Greencastle-Antrim 39-0 Friday night in a Mid Penn Colonial Division matchup.
Jacob Loy and Alex Sharrow led the way for the Greyhounds (6-0, 3-0 MPC), finishing with three and two touchdown runs, respectively. Zack Manning also threw a touchdown pass to Nick Gustafson.
“We did a lot of things well tonight,” Ship coach Eric Foust said. “We played hard. There were definitely some things we need to work on, but the defense played very well.”
Greencastle (1-5, 0-3 MPC) wasn’t able to muster much of anything on the offensive side. Shippensburg’s starting defense hasn’t allowed a point in any of the last three games.
Offensively, the Hounds came into the game looking to get more production out of the passing game. That part of the offense is still a work in progress.
“We were a little sloppy,” said Foust. “We had a couple big plays in the passing game, but again we couldn’t get anything going consistently.
“We did a great job in the kicking game. Overall, we had a good night, but we do need to clean up some of the little mistakes.”
Shippensburg now goes into the toughest part of its schedule, starting with a home matchup with West Perry next week and a road game against Northern York the following week.
