Fannett Metal 3 McConnellsburg 2

Willow Hill, Pa. – The Lady Spartan soccer team (4-3, 2-2 ICC) lost to Fannett Metal 3-2 in an Inter County Conference matchup. Brynn Hartman scored a pair of goals for the Tigers and Quehanna Coble added a goal in the win. Jensen Boehme netted both Spartans’ goals in the losing effort.  McConnellsburg will travel to Windber on Saturday for a 5:00 start. Fannett Metal will host North Star on Saturday at 11:00 AM.

Willow Hill, Pa. – McConnellsburg (7-0, 4-0 ICC) continued their winning ways with a 3 to 1 win over ICC rival Fannett Metal (4-3, 2-1,ICC). Javier Artega started the scoring for the Spartans with an unassisted goal. The Tigers Colton Kline evened the score with an assist from Zach Seibert. Artega scored his second goal in the first half with an assist from Jonah Peck. Peck sealed the game for the Spartans in the second half on a penalty kick. McConnellsburg travels to Windber on Saturday with a game time of 7:15. Fannett Metal will host Everett on Monday at 4:45.

Southern Fulton 2 Rockwood 1

Warfordsburg, Pa. – Southern Fulton (5-2) downed Rockwood 2 to 1 in non league competition. Darwin Reyes scored a pair of goals and Tyler Youngblood added a goal in the win. Colby Whiteside recorded 14 saves in goal for the Indians. Rockwood outshot Southern Fulton 15 to 13. Southern Fulton Coach Hervey Hann said, “The boys played a great first half by scoring 2 goals and keeping Rockwood scoreless. The first part of the second half we let up some and allowed them to score. The last part of the second half we were keeping the ball on their side of the field, but just could not seem to get the shots off. Overall the team is to be congratulated for playing a great game. That was a win we really needed.” The Indians will host Berlin on Saturday at 12:30.

Everett, Pa. – Forbes Road (0-9, 0-5 ICC) dropped a league game to Everett 8 to 0. The Cardinals return to action next Wednesday when they will host Johnstown Christian at 4:00.
