Southern Fulton 3 Forbes Road 1

Warfordsburg, Pa. – Southern Fulton (4-2, 2-2 ICC) hosted county rival Forbes Road (0-6, 0-4 ICC) and downed the Cardinals 3 to 1. The Indians outshot the Cardinals 41 to 6. The Indians were led by Darwin Reyes who netted a pair of goals. Tyler Youngblood had a goal and an assist, while Caleb Elder and Quaid Brady each added an assist. Jonas Shaneman scored for the Cardinals. Matt Clippinger had 14 saves in goal for Forbes Road and Colby Whiteside had 3 saves for Southern Fulton. Indian Coach Hervey Hann said, “We played extremely well the first half, but could not finish to score goals. Second half was similar with lots of shots on goal, but just could not get it in to the net. We had too many wide or high shots and would sometimes lose the ball before getting the shot off. Overall we played a good game, but we really need to be able to finish with the ball in the net.” Forbes Road travels to Everett on Wednesday for a 7:00 start, while Southern Fulton will host Rockwood on Thursday at 4:00.

McConnellsburg, Pa. – The MHS boys soccer team defeated Everett Monday by a score of 4-0.  Caleb Strait recorded 5 saves in the goal for the shutout.  Xavier Buterbaugh scored a goal assisted by Landon Seiders.  Landon Seiders scored with an assist from Bryce Kylor.  Rain Gelvin scored with an assist from Hayden Schetromph.  And Landon Seiders scored again with an assist from Xavier Buterbaugh.  The Spartans improve their record to 6-0 (3-0 ICC). McConnellsburg travel to Fannett Metal on Thursday for a 3:30 start.

McConnellsburg, Pa. – The Lady Spartan soccer team (4-2, 2-1 ICC) dropped their second game of the season last night to the Everett Warriors by a score of 6-3.  The Spartans were tied at half time, but couldn’t keep pace with the Warriors in the second half.  Izzy Keefer, Sheridan Perry and Jensen Boehme found the net for the 3 Spartan goals.  The Lady Spartans will travel to Fannett Metal on Thursday to play the Tigers 5:30.
