Warfordsburg, Pa. – The MHS boy’s soccer team (4-0, 2-0 ICC) won a close beating Southern Fulton (2-2, 1-2 ICC) 2-1 in double overtime. Tyler Youngblood put the Indians on the scoreboard first with an assist by Caleb Elder. Javier Arteaga scored with the Spartans tailing midway through the first half. It took the Spartans two overtime periods to secure the win, with Garrett Bunch scoring with minimal time left in the second overtime. Colby Whiteside had 24 saves for Southern Fulton, while Caleb Strait recorded 6 saves for the Spartans. The Spartans outshot the Indians 30 to 16. Indian Coach Hervey Hann said, “It was a good game to watch with a lot of highs and lows for both teams.” Both teams return to action on Saturday as Southern Fulton hosts Berkeley Springs and McConnellsburg travels to North Star. Both games begin at 1:00.
