Blazers fall to Calvary in 3 games

Defending league runner-up Calvary Christian pinned a 3-0 defeat on the Cumberland Valley Christian Blazers Tuesday in a Mason-Dixon Christian Conference girls volleyball match.

Calvary won games of 25-6, 25-10 and 25-20.

“We had a solid defense working tonight but just couldn’t convert our plays to points,” Blazers coach Carole Rosenberry said. “Our returning players are doing a good job of integrating our new players into the rotations. We played a good third game and hopefully we can build on tonight’s loss for the upcoming matches this week.”

For the Blazers (1-1, 1-1 MDCC), Regan Bard had 11 assists, Morgan Householder contributed four kills and five digs, Olivia Russell had three kills, Kerri Potteiger had 2 digs, Emilee Beam collected five kills and eight digs, and Ryleigh Timmons had 19 digs and two aces.

Calvary won the JV game, 2-0.
