Southern Fulton 8 Fannett Metal 1
Willow Hill, Pa. – Southern Fulton picked up a huge playoff win against Fannett Metal tonight winning 8-1 in the District V Softball Quarterfinals. The ICC rivals had split in the regular season. The Indians were led on the mound by Kylie Golden, who scattered five hits and struck out five to pick up the win. Golden also picked up two RBIs going 2-3 on the night. Cheyenne Miller went 2-4 with two RBIs. Jessie Covalt went 1-3 with two RBIs. Bailey Burkett also was 2-3 for the Indians. Jade Rhodes was 2 for 3 for the Tigers, including a double. Rhodes also took the loss on the mound for Fannett Metal. Southern Fulton Coach Melissa Mackel commented, “The Lady Indians hit the ball well tonight and were clutch defensively when they needed to be!” Fannett Metal finished their season at 14 wins and 7 losses. Southern Fulton (7-13) will play Rockwood (12-6) on Tuesday at 4:30 at a site to be determined.
