BOYS VOLLEYBALL
Chambersburg 3, Carlisle 0: The Trojans made quick work of the Thundering Herd, claiming games of 25-13, 25-9 and 25-17 to sweep a Mid Penn Commonwealth match on Tuesday.
“We were able to frustrate them early from the service line and never gave them the opportunity to get into their groove,” Chambersburg coach Marta Helfrick said. “We did a great job at being the aggressors in all aspects.”
Trey Stepler put up a bunch of numbers, with nine assists, 12 digs and 18 service points.
Steven Swain had seven kills, nine digs and three blocks, Josiah Picard had six kills and nine digs and Jaylen Thomas had two block kills and three blocks.

Chambersburg’s home match vs. Central Dauphin on Thursday will be live streamed on MidPennBroadcasting.com and TheSportsPage.blog starting around 5:45 p.m.

Tyler Luther
BOYS TRACK & FIELD
Chambersburg 67.5, Harrisburg 50.5: The Mid Penn Commonwealth meet at Trojan Stadium on Tuesday was suspended by lightning, and the Cougars made the decision to leave. At the time, the Trojans led 67.5-50.5.
The 4 x 100 race was the highlight, with both teams posting a 42.5 time to tie for first. Chambersburg’s team was Jayden Jones, Karter Jones, Donovan Moses and Tyeshawn Worrell.
Chambersburg coach Bob Walker said, “It was a dead heat. Donovan ran a great third leg and I thought Tyeshawn might have held off Donte Kent at the finish line.”
Winners for Trojans (2-3, 2-3 MPC) included Brock Harmon in the shot put (52-6.5) and discus (146-1), Trentin Overcash in the 1600 (4.39) and 800 (2:00.0), Kyere Morton in the javelin (141-10) and Tyler Luther in the pole vault (12-6), plus the 4 x 800 relay team of Joe Maxwell, Ian Brechbiel, Billy Prentice and Luke Myers (10:41).
“It was nice to see Luke Myers return from an injury,” Walker said. “Kevin Lee and Enrique Del Leon improved tremendously in the 300 hurdles. In the 800, our guys (Overcash, Aaron Maynard and Diontae Barbour) pushed each other and Barbour had a fantastic debut in the event (2:04.1).
“Tyler Luther showed he’s more than a pole vaulter with a 20-3 (third) in the long jump. Kyere got back in the groove in the javelin and dependable Brock had another double win.”
