Suspended After 9 Innings
Waterfall, Pa. – Fannett Metal jumped out to leads of 2-0 and 5-2 through two innings, capitalizing on five hits and three Forbes Road errors. Caleb Hershey took the mound for the Cardinals with two outs in the second and stopped the bleeding. Hershey fired seven scoreless innings, surrendering just three hits, while striking out seven. Forbes Road chipped away against Tiger starter Wyatt Appleby, closing the score to 5-4 through five innings. Appleby finished his five innings surrendering four runs on nine hits, while striking out three. Rylin Sharar relieved Appleby, tossing the final four innings, surrendering just one run on three hits. The Tiger defense squashed two Cardinal rallies by turning key double plays in the second and sixth innings. Forbes Road did manage the tying run in the bottom of the seventh, when pinch runner Jonah Nichols scored on an infield groundout. Hershey and Sharar matched zeroes in the extra frames before the game was suspended after nine complete deadlocked at 5-5. Colton Friese collected two hits for the Tigers, while Billy Peppernick’s double was Fannett Metal’s lone extra base hit. Grayson Hall (2-5, 2B, 3B), Kole Kendall (2-3), Caleb Hershey (2-4), and Shane Schepis (2-4) each had multi-hit games for the Cardinals. Matt Clippinger and Ethan Wright each added doubles for Forbes Road. The game will be finished at a date to be determined. Forbes Road returns to action on Tuesday, travelling to Southern Huntingdon. Fannett Metal is scheduled to host East Juniata tomorrow.

Loysburg, Pa. – Southern Fulton (3-2, 3-2 ICC) traveled to Northern Bedford and split a double header with the Black Panthers, winning the first game 14 to 3, and dropping the second game 2 to 1. Konner Pittman led a 20 hit attack in the first game going 4 for 4. Holden Stotler, Gabe Stotler, Colton Souders, Issac Fitz, and Dylan Melton all had multiple hits for the Indians. Luke Fitz picked up the win, scattering 3 hits and 3 runs over 5 innings. In the night cap Gabe Stotler went 6 strong innings, holding NBC scoreless on 3 hits, while striking out 13 and walking only 1. Levi Barnard was tagged with the loss. Weidmann picked up the win for NBC, pitching a complete game, allowing 1 run on 2 hits, while striking out 4. Southern Fulton will travel to Clear Spring on Monday.
