Chambersburg 20, Central Dauphin East 3: Ben Melego popped in five goals and Dom Marangoni had three goals and two assists in the Trojans’ Mid Penn Commonwealth win over the Panthers Wednesday.

“It was nice to see a freshman (Marangoni) get his first hat trick and tag on two assists,” Chambersburg coach Paul Flohr said. “It was also nice to get some of the new guys playing some good lacrosse.”

Nine players for the Trojans (2-3, 1-3 MPC) got into the scoring column.

Klein Burkholder scored three goals and he and Melego now lead the team with seven goals each. Grayson Hopple, Austin Brookens and Haden Ocker each scored twice and Aidan Brechbill, Thomas Elia and Cade Martin got one goal each.

Also getting assists were Elia (2) and one each by Hopple, Brookens and Ocker, who now leads the team with nine points.

“We had too many penalties on our part, but we played hard and aggressive,” Flohr said.
