McConnellsburg 43 Forbes Road 31

McConnellsburg, Pa. – After almost an entire season, Forbes Road and McConnellsburg finally got to face each other. The Spartans came out hot and never looked back, handing the Cardinals a 42 to 31 Inter County Conference loss. Lainnie Glenn led the Spartans with 10 points, Katelyn Truax added 9 points, 7 rebounds and had 6 blocks. Sami Hensley added 8 points and Matti Ross chipped in 6 points. Quincy McMath led Forbes Road with 11 points and Hannah Skiles added 6 points. Forbes Road Coach Jamie Gelvin commented, “They were hot coming out of the gate. Super strong start for them and we never recovered. Lainnie Glen had a nice game for them.” JV- FR 42 MHS 29 (FR Hannah Skiles 12 points, MHS Aleah Lynch and Sheridan Perry 8 points). McConnellsburg will travel to Shalom Christian next Tuesday. Forbes Road is scheduled to play at Shalom Christian on Monday.

Southern Fulton 49 Fannett Metal 35

Willow Hill, Pa. – Fannett-Metal (12-6, 8-6 ICC) hosted Southern Fulton (12-5, 9-3 ICC) in girls’ basketball action and fell by a score of 49 to 35. The Tigers trailed by 7 at halftime and could not trim that deficit.  FM was outscored 22 to 15 in the second half.  The Indians got scoring from Hollenshead 12, Covalt 11, Gordon 11, and Fischer 5.  Fannett Metal got scoring from Johns 10, Hartman 8, M Ritchey 4, Rotz 4, K Ritchey 4, Adams 2, McClure 2, and Hoffmann 1. Fannett Metal will play at Meyersdale on Saturday at 1:00 in a varsity only contest. Southern Fulton will travel to Shanksville on Saturday for a 4:00 varsity only game.
