Chambersburg girls fall by 7 to Eagles

NEW KINGSTOWN — Chambersburg played tough against Mid Penn Commonwealth girls basketball champion Cumberland Valley, but ended up with a big comeback falling short.

The Trojans (2-17, 1-12 MPC), which lost by 20 earlier to the Eagles, were defeated 49-42 after outscoring CV 20-9 in the fourth quarter.

Bre’ya Clopper scored 8 of her 10 points in the final period and Ashley Adams also had 8 points in the quarter. Adams scored a season-high 14 points.

It was only the third time Chambersburg scored 40 or more points this year.

Cumberland Valley (18-1, 15-0 MPC) made six 3-pointers.
