The Greencastle- Antrim Lady Blue Devils came into their game Saturday afternoon with the Waynesboro Maidens needing a win to clinch the MPC Colonial Division. The Waynesboro Maidens had lost 41 games in a row and Waynesboro came away victorious for the first time since February 6, 2017 with a 35-33 win over the Blue Devils.

Waynesboro trailed just once very briefly in the third quarter. They took an 8-1 lead after the first quarter over Greencastle, led 14-11 at the half, 24-21 at the end of three quarters and held off a couple of Greencastle fourth quarter comebacks and survived a late technical foul for the victory. Greencastle missed a 3 point attempt at the buzzer for the win.
Abby Sheasley scored 11 to lead Waynesboro (1-18, 1-9 MPC Colonial), Leslie Huckle and Leah Blount had eight apiece.
Greencastle was lead by McKenna Rakaczewski and Lydia Crist with 11 points each.
The Blue Devils fall to 12-6 overall and 9-2 in the Colonial Division. The Lady Blue Devils travel to James Buchanan Tuesday night to play the Lady Rockets winners of five of their last six games. The Blue Devils need a win to be assured of winning the Colonial Division outright, James Buchanan and Big Spring are both 6-3 in the division. The Blue Devils are currently ranked #14 in PIAA 5A, 16 teams qualify for the district playoffs. James Buchanan is currently ranked #11in 4A.
