Girl’s Basketball Roundup 1/17/19 Fulton/FM

Southern Fulton 53 Fannett Metal 35

Warfordsburg, Pa. – Fannett Metal (8-3, 5-3 ICC) traveled to SouthernFulton (7-3, 6-2 ICC) in an ICC matchup, but fell to the Indians 53 to 35. Drew Gordon led the Indians with 14 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists, and 5 steals. Jessie Covalt added 18 points and 10 rebounds, while Lindsey Hollenshead had 15 points , 4 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 steals. The Tigers were led by Brynn Hartman with 14 points and Katie Johns added 13 points. Southern Fulton Assistant Coach Amy Fischer commented, “Our girls really showed up and played tonight. We took the lead early and never let up. I was very proud of their efforts on both ends of the court, especially our defense. Every player stepped up their game tonight. This was the all-around team win we needed.” JV – SF 25 FM 20 (SF Jalyn Hann – 9 points). Southern Fulton is scheduled to travel to Shanksville on Saturday. Fannett Metal is scheduled to host Rockwood on Saturday weather permitting.

The Forbes Road vs. McConnellsburg girl’s basketball game was postponed. The games will be made up on Wednesday, February 13, at 6:00 at Forbes Road.
