The James Buchanan Lady Rockets clamped down on defense and rolled past Hanover, 42-17 in a non-league girls basketball game Wednesday.

JB (7-6) held Hanover to single-digit points in every quarter while its offense erupted for a combined 30 points in the middle 2 quarters.

“The girls played well,” JB coach Jenny Lauthers said. “Some outside shots finally started to fall for us. This was a good team win and great team effort.”

Maggie Strawoet led the Lady Rockets with 12 points while Alyssa Blair added 10 points, 5 steals and 2 blocked shots.
