Southern Fulton 50 Bellwood Antis 46

Bellwood, Pa. – Southern Fulton used a big third quarter and defeated Bellwood Antis 50 to 46 in a non league game Wednesday night. The Indians (6-3) played Bellwood to a 19-19 tie at half and then broke it open in the third. The game tightened in the fourth, but Josh Morris hit 4 straight foul shots down the stretch to ice the game. SF coach Jeremy Hann commented,”Our defense was very good all game long. Justin played great against Yingling holding him to 4. They hit a 3 to make it interesting late and we clamped down again. Josh Morris’ foul shots were clutch. He didn’t play like a freshman”. Southern Fulton was led in scoring by Josh Morris with 15 points. Dylan Melton had 11 points. Justin Morris added 9 points, 3 assists, and 2 steals. Josh Stocker added 9 points and 2 assists. Gabe Stotler finished with 6 points, 11 rebounds and 2 blocked shots. JV SF 39 Bellwood Antis 34 (SF Jake Stocker 14 points). The Indians will host McConnellsburg on Friday at 6:00.

Southern Fulton 55 Fort Hill 49

Cumberland, Md. – Southern Fulton (4-3) traveled to Fort Hill and picked up a non league win 55 to 49. Three Lady Indians reached double figures. Jessie Covalt led the team with 17 points, Lindsey Hollenshead added 14, and Drew Gordon chipped in 11. Southern Fulton Coach Meagan Mellott commented, “Fort Hill was very physical and it took us the whole first half to adjust our game. After a pretty slow start, we came out after half time and played the best quarter we probably have all season. We passed the ball very well and I am just waiting for us to click like that for 4 continuous quarters.” JV – SF 34 FH 19. (SF – Kenadee Morton – 18 points). SF will travel to McConnellsburg today (1/10) for a 6:00 start.
