Claysburg 54 Forbes Road 49

The Cardinals’ holiday hangover continued through the first half of the Claysburg Holiday Tournament consolation game.  Forbes Road managed only 10 points in the first half and dug a hole too deep to recover.  Host Claysburg held off the Cardinals in the second half to claim the 54-40 victory.  Forbes Road coach Pete Hall commented, “We didn’t show up to play, and we got whipped the first sixteen minutes.  We competed better in the second half, but we have to show up with more focus and intensity.”  Grayson Hall led the Cardinals with 17 points.  Logan Deshong netted 13, including 9 of 12 shooting from the charity stripe.  Forbes Road (2-4, 1-2 ICC) returns to action on January 3, visiting Shalom Christian.

Claysburg, Pa. – McConnellsburg girl’s played in the Claysburg Holiday Tournament and split for the tournament. On December 28th the Lady Spartans fell to Bedford 49 to 23. Katlyn Truax and Matty Ross led McConnellsburg with 9 and 7 points respectively.

On December 29th, McConnellsburg (1-6) picked up their first win of the season with a 40 to 35 win over Chestnut Ridge in the consolation game. Katelyn Truax  led McConnellsburg with 15 points and Matty Ross added 10 points. McConnellsburg returns to action on Thursday, January 3rd, when they travel to Fannett Metal.
