GIRLS SWIMMING
Carlisle 93, Chambersburg 77: The Trojans picked up five victories, but it wasn’t quite enough to overcome the Thundering Herd in a Mid Penn Commonwealth meet.

Maddie Kinton had a hand in three wins. She captured the 50 free in 26.43 and the 100 free in 59.74, then anchored the winning 200 medley relay team (2:01.13) that also included Liv Terrazas, Emma Grove and Bree Kratz.

In addition, Terrazas picked up a first place in the 100 backstroke in 1:02.40, and Grove won the 100 breaststroke in 1:18.70.

“Many athletes new to competitive swimming competed today for the first time and we were pleased with the outcomes,” Trojan girls coach Donnie Miller said. “This meet will serve as a reminder that every athlete is important and that we really need every effort from every athlete to reach the lofty goals that we have set.”
