Cumberland Valley 5, Chambersburg 0: The Eagles handed the Trojans a shutout Mid Penn Commonwealth defeat in the season finale on Wednesday.

Chambersburg (6-9, 1-5 MPC) got enticingly close to winning at No. 1 doubles with Alexis Parra and Cally Papoutsis, who were defeated 6-4, 7-6, with a 10-7 tiebreaker score.

Hope Sprecher won 4 points at No. 1 singles and the No. 2 doubles team of Sarah Guare and Julianne Grove won three games.

“It’s a tough way to end the regular season, but we will look to rebound and play well at the Mid Penn tournament tomorrow and Friday,” Trojan coach Josh Barwin said.
